APC Technology celebrates 40 years of innovation

South Australian ruggedised hardware and control system provider APC Technology has celebrated a significant milestone of 40 years of operation.

Since its inception, APC Technology has been at the forefront of delivering world-class solutions across industries including defence, industrial automation, aerospace, and more.

The journey first began in 1982 when Peter Hodson founded the company, focusing on providing reliable automation solutions. In 1984, the company was officially incorporated as Automation and Process Control Services.

Reflecting on the company’s origins, Peter said, “When I started APC Technology, the focus was on providing reliable automation solutions. We could never have imagined the scale at which we’d grow or the variety of industries we’d serve. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m proud of how far we’ve come.”

Over the past four decades, APC Technology has evolved into a leader in cutting-edge technology solutions for harsh environments. The company’s success driven by continuous innovation and the ability to adapt to changing industry needs.

During the 1990s, APC Technology pioneered the use of PCs for industrial process control, developed ruggedised computers, and supplied control systems for major projects like the Sydney Olympics.

In 2002, the company rebranded as APC Technology and moved into defence applications, marking a significant turning point in its history.

This year the company has secured the Hanwha Project, further cementing its leadership in the defence sector.

Looking to the future, Managing Director Craig Williams said APC Technology will continue to break new ground.

“Our 40-year journey has been marked by resilience, innovation, and a constant drive to push the boundaries of what’s possible. We are more committed than ever to delivering world-class solutions to our clients and embracing new challenges across industries,” said Craig.
