UniSA partners with Australian Government to offer zero fee engineering degree

The University of South Australia has partnered with the Australian Government to offer small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) the opportunity to upskill employees with in-demand engineering capabilities at no cost. The 100% online Associate Degree in Engineering commences in late September, with course fees fully funded by the Australian Government for eligible companies. To be eligible, employers must have no more than 200 staff and demonstrate a need for engineering skills. South Australian companies Novafast and Abstec Calibrations have secured their share of $8 million in Federal Government funding to boost local defence manufacturing capability. Silentium secures contract to deliver passive radar systems for Army

South Australian-based company Silentium Defence has secured a $7.4 million contract from the Department of Defence to supply its MAVERICK M-series passive radar system to the Australian Army for capability development and evaluation activities. Silentium’s MAVERICK M-series is the first high-performance, low-power, soldier-portable, covert radar system for air defence, land, and maritime surveillance. Babcock Australasia has been down-selected for the next stage of LAND125 Phase 4 Integrated Soldier System (ISS) with a solution that draws on sovereign industry capability and an extensive network of Australian suppliers. LAND125 Phase 4 will deliver an ISS integrating all elements and subsystems that are used, worn or carried by soldiers in any operational context or environment for up to 72 hours without resupply.
