Recapping Land Forces 2024 – SA proves it is a force to be reckoned with

With a record presence of 67 companies on board, the South Australia the Defence State stand was once again a hive of activity across Land Forces, held in Melbourne from 11-13 September 2024.

Overall, the event proved a huge success for organisers with 15 percent higher attendance on the previous record set in 2022.

“Not only has this been the biggest and the best Land Forces yet, it is also the largest defence exposition ever held in Australia,” said Justin Giddings, CEO of Land Forces 2024 organiser AMDA Foundation.

“We’ve had record numbers of delegates and an impressive 995 exhibiting companies from 31 countries around the world.”

The event provided South Australian industry with an opportunity to display their advanced capabilities and technologies to key partners and decision-makers on a national and global stage. View the complete list of SA exhibitors here.

The state’s top research and education institutions, along with the Defence Innovation Partnership, were also on hand to showcase the state’s strengths in research and innovation and explore potential new collaboration opportunities.

Defence SA Chief Executive Matt Opie said Land Forces provided an ideal platform for companies to showcase their defence capabilities.

“While South Australia is the nation’s epicentre for naval shipbuilding and nuclear-powered submarines, the state’s defence capabilities extend beyond this to land domain activities, cyber and systems, information warfare and cutting-edge defence research,” Mr Opie said.

“Land Forces presented the opportunity for local industry to connect with potential partners and customers from across the world, unlocking doors to new collaborations and growth opportunities that will further strengthen South Australia’s position as a defence industry leader.”
