The Defence and Space Landing Pad is a one-stop-shop that supports the expansion of national and international defence and space companies into South Australia – the Defence State.

Companies looking to establish a presence in the state can leverage the Defence and Space Landing Pad’s affordable, short-term office facilities and relationship building opportunities within Lot Fourteen, a thriving innovation district in the heart of Adelaide’s central business district.

Support and Advice

Defence and Space Landing Pad companies can tap into a range of government support programs and a network of companies working within the defence and space sectors to help establish themselves in South Australia.

Managed by Defence SA, support is available to assist companies to establish offices, research and manufacturing facilities across South Australia’s network
of 22 innovation places. These include defence-focused precincts Osborne Naval Shipyard Technology ParkTonsley Innovation DistrictEdinburgh Defence Precinct, as well as Lot Fourteen.

Companies seeking advice on the Australian business environment and business development plans, can also access support from connected State Government agencies, such as the Department of State Development and Renewal SA.

Access to Defence and Space Connections

The Defence and Space Landing Pad provides resident companies with immediate connection to the co-located Defence Teaming Centre (DTC). DTC is a nationally-focused member organisation helping Australian defence industry to increase capability and competitiveness in global defence markets.

Companies can also take advantage of the support and industry connections provided by the Australian Industry and Defence Network (AIDN), the nation’s peak industry association dedicated to empowering Australian businesses in the defence sector. Through strong relationships with Australian Government decision-makers, AIDN provides a voice for its members while promoting their capabilities.

Lot Fourteen is Australia’s first creation and innovation neighbourhood. It is home to the Australian Space Agency, Australian Mission Control Centre and Australian Space Discovery Centre, the SmartSat CRC (cooperative research centre), Australian Institute for Machine LearningAustralian Cyber Collaboration Centre, as well as more than 160 companies and organisations.

The Landing Pad is open to well-established overseas and interstate defence and space companies that are looking to expand into the state and capitalise on upcoming projects centred in South Australia. The Landing Pad targets companies interested in:
